Service in Colour transforms the traditional medal ribbon bar into a distinctive piece of personalised wall art.

This four-ribbon edition is individually designed around four medal ribbons awarded to the recipient. Rather than reproducing the texture of ribbon fabric, each design uses clean, carefully defined colour to create a bold, abstract interpretation of the original ribbon bar.

Each 280 × 100mm ribbon panel is printed onto premium aluminium and mounted onto 5mm MDF. The four panels are arranged in a single horizontal row and custom-set within a handmade black wooden frame, producing a finished piece measuring approximately 1165 × 130mm.

Where the original ribbon carries an emblem, an appropriate raised emblem can be laser-cut, hand-painted and securely fixed to the relevant panel for an additional £15 per emblem.

Every piece is personalised and made to order. Before production begins, a low-resolution PDF proof will be emailed for careful checking and approval.

How to order

1. Provide the four ribbons
   Enter the name of each medal ribbon in the correct order, reading from left to right.

2. Add any emblems
   Tell us which ribbon requires an emblem and select the required emblem quantity. Emblems are £15 each.

3. Check your proof carefully
   A low-resolution PDF proof will be emailed before production. Check every ribbon, the order of precedence and the position and type of every emblem.

4. Approve production
   Production begins once the proof has been approved. The artwork is then handmade to order and prepared for dispatch.

Your artwork is made specifically from the service information supplied with the order. We will email a low-resolution PDF proof for approval before production begins.

Please check the proof carefully, including:

• The four ribbons selected

• Their order from left to right

• Ribbon colours and design

• The type, quantity and position of any emblems

• Any other personalised information shown

By approving the proof, you confirm that these details are correct and authorise production.

Because this is a personalised, custom-made product, it cannot normally be returned or cancelled because you have changed your mind. If an error supplied or approved by the customer is discovered after production has begun, any amendment, replacement or remake will be chargeable.

This does not affect the customer’s statutory rights where an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or has been produced differently from the approved proof.

Production, delivery and hanging

Production time

Please allow approximately 28 days for production. Each piece is made and finished by hand. The final production clock should be confirmed as either beginning on the order date or on proof approval before this wording is published.

Delivery

Standard shipping charges apply and will be shown at checkout. Packaging specifications and any UK Highlands, Islands or international restrictions remain to be confirmed.

Hanging

The frame is fitted with a 45mm brass sawtooth picture hanger. Wall fixings are not included because the correct fixing will depend on the wall construction. The load rating and number of hangers must be checked against the final packed and unpacked product weight before describing the product as ready to hang.

Is this made using fabric ribbon?

No. Each ribbon is reinterpreted using clean, precise colour and printed onto premium aluminium. The finished artwork is inspired by the appearance and arrangement of a traditional ribbon bar rather than being made from ribbon fabric.

Can I add emblems?

Yes. Appropriate emblems can be added to the relevant ribbon for £15 each. Each emblem is laser-cut, hand-painted in the appropriate finish and securely fixed to the artwork.

Will I see the design before it is made?

Yes. A low-resolution PDF proof will be sent by email for checking and approval before production begins.

What should I check on the proof?

Check the ribbons, their left-to-right order, the ribbon designs and the type and position of every emblem. Production will follow the proof you approve.

How long will my order take?

Please allow approximately 28 days for production. The exact point at which the 28-day period begins must be confirmed before publication.

What size is the four-ribbon artwork?

The finished external dimensions are approximately 1165mm wide × 130mm high.

Can I return a personalised artwork?

Personalised, custom-made items cannot normally be returned because of a change of mind. This does not affect your statutory rights if the artwork is faulty, damaged, not as described or differs from the proof you approved.
