William Morris is recognised as one of the most significant cultural figures of Victorian Britain and the Arts and Crafts Movement. He was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production. (1834 - 1896).

Around the Base
Models around the base include Morris wallpaper patterns, paintbrushes, printing press, potters wheel and the Red House designed by the great designer.
The etch around the base reads:
"HAVE NOTHING IN YOUR HOME THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW TO BE USEFUL, OR BELIEVE TO BE BEAUTIFUL"
